Visual artist Heesun Shin, her art, which is primarily sculpture takes prosaic objects and imbues them with new (and sometimes oppositional) meaning in a deliberate mashup to provoke a new dialogue about some critical aspect of our universal human experience. Shin reflects her own personal story and is very much rooted in modern-day conversations about memory, perception and manifestations of the interior life. Shin holds both a BFA in painting and an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she currently lives and works.
